Smile Makeover

The goal of a Smile makeover is to improve your smile by taking into consideration your facial appearance, skin tone, hair color, teeth, gum tissue and lips to develop your ideal smile.

These aspects will give you a clear idea of what can be improved in your smile.  Treatment options can include whitening, Invisalign, veneers, and crowns.

Invisalign

Invisalign clear aligners are custom-made for you. The aligners are virtually invisible and fit snugly over your teeth. Each aligner shifts your teeth slightly, according to each patient case. Your aligners are engineered to use the right amount of force in the right place at the right time.

When you change to the next set of aligners (typically every two weeks) your teeth gradually move, following a custom treatment plan mapped out by your doctor.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple process. Whitening products contain one of two tooth bleaches (hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide). These bleaches break stains into smaller pieces, which makes the color less concentrated and your teeth brighter.

Laser Dentistry

Laser Dentistry is used to alter or reshape tissue in small amounts.  Dentist use lasers in a variety of ways inside of the mouth to remove overgrown tissues, reshape gums, detect cavities and to whiten teeth. These are some of the treatments that can be done with Laser Dentistry.

Dental Implants

Implants are an excellent option to replace missing teeth, especially in instances when the adjacent or surrounding teeth are in good condition and do not need treatment. Unlike a bridge, an implant lets you replace just the tooth that is missing without involving other teeth.

Implants can also be used when many teeth are missing such as with an implant-supported denture, which is the firmest hold possible for a denture.

Dental Fillings

A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc.  The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite restoration.

There are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Dr. Peralta can discuss the best options for restoring your teeth. Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used today.  Composite fillings are tooth colored and are less invasive than amalgam restorations. They can also be closely matched to the color of existing teeth.

Porcelain Crowns

If you have cracked, decayed or missing teeth, it’s essential to fix or replace them. Most people don’t realize this, but replacement is necessary in order to maintain proper mouth functions.

Tooth loss can affect the way you eat, speak, and the alignment of other teeth in your mouth. Said another way, replacing lost teeth can prevent the collapse of your facial features, which can result in premature age lines and wrinkles.

A bridge is one of the few options you have when deciding how to deal with a missing tooth or teeth.

Exam & Cleaning

We value your time and are pleased to offer all the services available in a general dental practice. These include a comprehensive dental examination, prophylaxis cleanings, fillings, onlays, veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures, and much more.

Dental cleanings and exams are two of the most basic yet important preventive treatments we provide at our office. Each time you visit our dental practice for a checkup, we will provide professional teeth cleaning and dental exam to help your smile stay healthy. During your teeth cleaning and exam, our dental team will:

  • Clean your teeth by removing any plaque or tartar (also called dental calculus), which can lead to tooth decay and periodontal disease
  • Floss and polish your teeth for a healthy, bright smile
  • Examine your smile for signs of any damaging dental conditions or diseases
  • Oral cancer screening

We utilize digital X-rays to further evaluate your smile and make certain that you receive the best dental care possible. Regular dental cleanings and exams are essential in maintaining good oral health, preventing cavities and gum disease, and making sure that any damaging conditions are treated as early as possible.

Dr. Peralta recommends that you visit every six months for a routine dental cleaning and exam. We may suggest more frequent visits if needed, and we also encourage you to contact us if you suffer from a dental emergency, pain, or injury.

To schedule your next appointment, we invite you to contact us today at (858)578-0120.

We look forward to caring for your smile!

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to recreate the natural look of teeth, while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel. It is often the material of choice for those looking to make slight position alterations, or to change tooth shape, size, and/or color.

Dr. Peralta will begin with a smile analysis to determine what steps are necessary to achieve the smile you desire. In addition, Dr. Peralta may create a trial diagnostic mock-up that will allow you to “try on” veneers and other procedures to see if the final result is actually what you’re looking for before committing to treatment.

Root-canal Treatments

Root Canal Treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay, repeated or deep dental procedures on the tooth, or a crack or chip in the tooth. In addition, an injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.

A root canal treatment repairs and saves a badly damaged or infected tooth. The procedure involves removing the damaged area of the tooth (the pulp), cleaning and disinfecting it and then filling and sealing it in order to save the tooth.

Inlays & Onlays

If you hate the idea of excessive drilling in order to place dental restorations, then see Dr. Peralta for Minimally Invasive Dentistry. Dr. Peralta conserves the maximum amount of healthy tooth structure and places restorations made of quality porcelains, contributing to a healthier, more beautiful smile. Contact our dental team if you want to learn more about minimally invasive dentistry.

With traditional dental procedures, such as the preparation and placement of a crown, nearly 75% of the tooth tissue is taken away in order to make space for the restoration. Instead of improving the health of your smile, this extreme removal of healthy tooth tissue shortens the life of the tooth. However, through minimally invasive dentistry, we strive to preserve as much tooth structure as we can for a healthier, stronger, and more beautiful smile.

With minimally invasive dentistry, we use better porcelain, advanced adhesives, and stronger materials to make quality restorations that don’t require as much tooth removal. Our conservative treatments are more comfortable since they require less drilling. By preserving maximum tooth structure, you will have a healthier smile that lasts longer. Please call our office if you would like a minimally invasive dentistry consultation or second opinion.
