Dr. Richard Giglio
Dr. Giglio was born and raised in New York City.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. Very involved in campus life as an officer of Kappa Alpha Order, Student Body Vice President, Honor Council President. Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities and Varsity swimming team.
He returned to NYC to continue his education at the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry, where he was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Society.
Upon graduation, Dr. Giglio was honored with the Academy of General Dentistry Award for the senior with the greatest interest, knowledge, and proficiency in General Dentistry.
Also the New York University Founders Day Award for the highest scholastic achievement.
Just after graduation, he joined the United States Navy Dental Corps. He was lucky to be stationed at the Naval Training Center in downtown San Diego. It didn’t take long for him to decide that he wanted to make San Diego his permanent home. He proudly served his country for two active years and four inactive. His Naval career was invaluable in increasing his dental knowledge through mentorship of his superior officers and rotating through different clinics.
In 1972, after Honorably Discharged, Dr. Giglio opened his private practice in San Diego. He joined the San Diego Dental Society, became a member of the Judicial Council and served for two years as President. Continually increases his dental knowledge and assesses new technologies through continuing education courses. Dr. Gilgio is a trusted member of the local dental community and well-respected among his peers.

Dr. Giglio has been married for 48 years, has two beautiful daughters and wonderful grandchildren (just ask him!). He enjoys being at home with his family and relaxing with a round of golf on one of our many beautiful San Diego courses.
